I was born in 1998. I started my studies at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts (MKE) and then I got my BA graduation from the Animation department of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) in 2019. Since 2017 I am working as a Freelance 2D and 3D generalist, compositor on short and feature films, and as director on commissioned works, and music videos. Besides that, I am also interested in dramaturgy and directing narrative short films.
"Last better days" is a coming of age mixed media animated short film about a young girl, who moves to Budapest for University and struggles to get comfortable in her new life. She learns to embrace the end of summer as the beginning of something new and exciting.
Eszter has just arrived back to her sublet after a family vacation. She is quite nervous because it’s the last few days before university, her room is a mess and all of her clothes are dirty. So her only plan for the rest of the day was to tidy up in frustration. But Alíz, her friend from back home, calls and tries to invite her to a party. They didn’t speak much lately so quite some persuasion is needed. At the party at first they start almost as strangers, but after a bottle of wine they finally have their first meaningful conversation in months. Then they drink, laugh and dance a lot. And everything starts to fade together. Next day Eszter wakes up early with an awful headache. It’s her first real hangover. She decides to dice some apples. She starts to get better, so She sits out on her balcony. The neighbourhood is quiet and the sun just started to shine, and she finally looks at what is ahead of her with excitement, and for the first time she feels some comfort in her new home.
The Idea of "Last Better Days’" isn’t new. I started thinking about the theme of the film in the summer between semesters a few years ago. It was born from several disjointed scenes and pictures I painted before. During my studies at a one-week course at MOME, I finally had the time to expand and tie them together as a conceptual trailer. I tried to capture feelings which were familiar to me about moving to another city for university. I think a lot of people can relate to the film because of their own experiences, so I aim to invoke these feelings and memories.
