BIO

As a Fine Art graduate, I’ve always had a natural passion for exploring a vast range of artistic forms and mediums. People often say, “the drive to experiment and create is at the core of what it means to be an artist,” and while that sounds great, I’d call it both a blessing and a curse. The blessing = There’s always something new to dive into. From painting and fashion to costume design, screen printing, sculpture, character creation, or something totally unexpected like an interest in game design. But the “curse” , it’s like juggling a million projects at once with no clear sense of where to settle. You start down one path and get pulled into another, resulting in a scattered focus and a lack of clear direction. Right now, I’m channeling that energy into animation and its complexities, while my main interest lies in exploring the intricate relationship between perception, reality, and imagination. At the same time, I am interested in how individuals develop their self-concepts through symbolization.

About JUMPSTART

Title: “0100 0101”
Duration: 00:51

Every individual, knowingly or unknowingly, cultivates a unique personal representation, a self-concept constructed through intricate symbolization and internal narratives. These personal symbols, that range from chosen objects, colours, fashion, and even the stories they tell about themselves, serve as a fascinating window into their inner world. It is captivating to delve into these representations, striving to perceive individuals as they perceive themselves. This process reveals their subjective reality, shaped by their distinctive experiences and perceptions. In essence, each person constructs a personal mythology, blending real and imagined elements to encapsulate their identity.

However, during this process of self-construction, moments of identity crisis can arise. As individuals navigate the complexities of their internal narratives, they may experience confusion or dissonance when their self-concept conflicts with external realities, societal expectations, or their evolving sense of self. This identity crisis can become a turning point, an intense struggle to reconcile who they have been, who they are, and who they wish to become. In such moments, the personal mythology they have created may feel unstable, leading them to question the very symbols and stories they once held as defining. Yet, through this uncertainty lies the potential for transformation, as the individual redefines their symbolic world and reimagines their identity in deeper, more authentic ways.
