Summer Camps

As well as the ongoing Primanima workshops, we organise animation and graphic arts camps during the summer holidays for kids and teenagers. Like the weekly sessions, our week-long summer camps provide an opportunity to nurture the individual talents of each child, while at the same time developing a true creative community. The aim of the camp organisers and experienced art teachers is for the campers to immerse themselves in intensive creative work, experience the joy of engaging in creative activities and have fun in community.

Animation camps

During the animation camps children will learn to use the animation toolbox with a sure hand and master all the techniques in the different sessions. In addition to technical skills, the children who come to us will develop their drawing skills, visuals, characters and backgrounds. They also have the opportunity to create puppet characters and learn about film scoring and sound design. There is also a greater emphasis on story development through a variety of playful exercises (folding fairy tales, story chains), so that children can get away from reality while learning the rules of film and animation dramaturgy.

Graphic camps

Drawing and painting camps come in all shapes and sizes. What we can say is that the BABtér graphic arts camp is really inspiring. We have excellent equipment, including a copperplate press and a risograph printing press. So we don't just 'paint and draw', because we believe the process of graphic design is more than that.

During the summer camps, we immerse the little ones in different graphic techniques through playful activities. We will delve deeper into the creative process by experimenting with drawing, collage, rhisography and mixed media printmaking.

And for teenagers, the camp can guide them in deciding which area of visual culture suits them best. This intensive week can help them prepare for an upcoming entrance exam, but it can also lead them to a pure interest in graphics, animation and visual culture. During the camp, they will learn more about the basics of graphic arts, graphic design, animation and motion graphics. As well as creating, they will have the opportunity to discuss art topics and reflect with art teachers. It is very important to give participants the right guidance and a genuinely curious attitude. Preparing a first portfolio is a massive work, and we do our best to help students with this.

Join us!

Primanima Summer Camps are day camps, with campers having lunch together and filling all the rooms and the courtyard of the BABtér with games and playful activities or you can hear a lot of thought provoking conversations and laughter from the youngsters. In the afternoons, they are treated to a selection of films from the Primanima Festival's Children's Film Competition programme, when they can experience the magic of moving images together in the projector.
